We take the care of our environment very seriously indeed.

Here are some of the ways we help:

Electricity: Our electricity is supplied by Yorkshire Gas & Power and is 100% renewable electricity. As there is no gas at the property, our central heating system is powered by Kerosene heating oil.

Showers: Our shower heads have inbuilt Air Core Technology and inject air directly into the water stream, using up to 30% less water. Don’t worry, it’s still a great shower experience!

Lighting: We use energy-saving and LED bulbs throughout our building where possible and practical.

Recycling: Everything that can be recycled is recycled in York! We take full advantage of the local council’s recycling schemes.

Laundry: We line-dry our laundry, weather permitting, and use Smol eco laundry and cleaning products for the majority of our household needs. Please reuse your towels if you are able.

Heating: We provide high-quality ECO logs and eco wood briquettes for our wood burners and eco-friendly smokeless briquettes.

Plastics: Our takeaway containers are all recyclable and we avoid single-use plastic, preferring refillable units.

Please respect our plumbing system, it feeds into a septic tank, so please do not flush anything down there except human waste and toilet paper! Thanks
