In Stillingfleet itself there is a Norman Church, pleasant countryside walks and an award winning nursery and Garden at Stillingfleet
Lodge which is open on specific afternoons in the summer for a visit and a cup of tea.
McArthur
Glen designer outlet is nearby with park and ride facitlites into York. There are also several golf courses, fishing
ponds and riding schools locally with the Trans-pennine cycleway nearby.
Although in a countryside location, there are petrol stations, atm's, post offices, supermarkets and a butcher within
a few minutes drive. Nearby pubs/ restaurants include
The Blacksmiths Arms at naburn, The Santhai restaurant at Escrick and the Spice Mill Indian & Per Baco Italian restaurant
at Riccall. All are a couple of miles away by car ( or bus). The Cross keys pub in the village
is not an eating pub.
Hilary was trained at the Cordon Bleu school of Cookery and has spent 25 years in the catering industry. Her love
of cooking & hospitality exudes in the attention to detail of the accommodation and any special foods and diets requested.
We have regular residential cookery breaks for those who wish to gain more confidence in cooking or build a new repertoire
of recipes.
